I really like the quality of the new Nature, especially when compared to the Lite model I had before. I was a bit afraid of the new keycaps, but they are all right (and way more pleasant to use than in Lite). They are different than in the old Nature, but also very good.
Some time ago I was thinking of switching to a split keyboard, but I had a Nature in the office and Lite at home... So I started using two them at the same time. And I love it!
Great set up and love my key boards
I own x-bows lite and now nature. I'm only sorry I didn't bought the knight/lite on my first purchase. This keyboards solve my biggest issue with standard keyboards where spacebar is too long and takes valuable space for additional thumb keys, and for that are best value for money
This is my 5th x-bows order. This one arrived smelling like cigarettes, which is concerning, but everything works great.
I had been using the brown mechanical switches. While the brown was just right for my use, the conference mic/speaker I use for meetings was a little too sensitive with my clicking. I switched out all switches for red. The update process was very simple. I ended up putting the brown switches back in place for toggle-type keys likes Caps and Num Lock. I have been absolutely pleased with my X-Bows Keyboard, switches, and support! I highly recommend!
Love this keyboard! I mean, it's visually kind of hideous but it feels great to type on. :) The Gateron beer switches are a noticeable improvement over the stock browns that came with my other X-Bows keyboards. Plus with the solid acrylic case, it feels like a premium product. People sometimes complain about "cheap" feeling construction--this is the opposite!
I haven't tried the wireless operation yet, but it was super easy to set up wired. The tool they use for programming the keyboard is dead simple to use and works great.
I've been using x-bows keyboards since the Kickstarter. I decided to get the crystal limited edition due to wanting a wireless option, and because it's beautiful! I couldn't be happier with it. I had planned to pull it apart and lube the switches, but the gateron beers were smooth enough with the factory lube. The acrylic frame is SOLID, and the combination of that, the keycaps, the stabs and the switches make a pleasant thock right out of the box.
I thought I was going to miss the numpad and F1-F12 keys, but the compact ortholinear layout make entering numbers with the normal number keys super easy. On top of that, the right spacebar combined with the number keys serve as the F-keys, which is easier than a normal layout.
The x-bows layout does take a bit of getting used to, but you owe it to yourself to give it a try. I don't think I can go back to a keyboard without backspace, shift, and enter keys in the center, not that I'd want to. I'm also excited to be able to edit the key mapping and lighting relatively easily now that they've migrated to QMK firmware.
Got the wrist-rest for my old knight, it's pleasant to touch, hefty and stays put when in use. My hands are now in a more relaxed position.
My nicest keyboard yet! The acrylic frame is solid and the combination of keycaps, switches and rigidity of the board give it a pleasant sound out of the box. The beer switches are nice and light and while I thought I was going to want to lube the switches and stabs, they are very smooth with the factory lube.
The ortholinear layout takes some getting used to, but I'm back at 100wpm, plus the backspace and modifier keys in the center limit the reaches I need to make.
key arrangement is wider than the original so will need some time to get used to it. Sound is thocky.
Key font to small. So I bought large font stick ons. Back light not bright enough. Keys are very good but have to get used to click noise. Good quality materials. Overall very nice keyboard.
I purchased X-Bows Lite very satisfied. As my new hobby, I rewriting books to learn better English. Plus macro feature that you may configure to your liking. There is no comeback to the old layout keyboard.
I really love my current keyboard and wanted another one. Ordered it August 9th. I have not received my keyboard. It says it is still in Schenzen, China.
I have reached out to support earlier this week but they still have not responded to the original or my follow ups.
I have used a "standard" layout keyboard for over 40 years, so this layout takes some getting used to, but I am getting used to it surprisingly quickly. The layout is great and definitely reduces excess reach for keys. The silent red keys feel wonderful and are quiet enough for work. I have also remapped several keys using the QMK Configurator website and the QMK Toolkit. It is comfortable and customizable and I really like it!
The layout of the keys makes typing comfortable and painless, although it takes time to get used to. The workmanship is very solid; the only fault is that one key is a bit louder than the others, which can be fixed by swapping it with some f-key. The wide very customization options are amazing. I consider the purchase very successful.
Got a very well built keyboard, and the support on discord helped me set it up and fix some issues.
(Pre-sale) X-Bows Crystal Programmable Ergonomic Wireless Mechanical Keyboard
I'm so thankful that X-Bows allow these to be bought separately. I was able to fix a key on my keyboard with this. Thanks!
