Is the X-Bows Crystal hot-swappable? +
Yes. The X-Bows Crystal ergonomic mechanical keyboard features hot-swappable switches, allowing you to replace compatible mechanical switches without soldering.
The Crystal supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style mechanical switches, giving you flexibility to experiment with different switch types, including linear, tactile, and clicky switches.
Hot-swapping makes it easier to personalize your typing experience, replace a faulty switch, or try switches with different actuation forces and tactile characteristics.
To replace a switch, first disconnect the keyboard from USB power and turn it off. Carefully remove the keycap and existing switch using appropriate puller tools, then align the replacement switch's pins with the socket before gently pressing it into place.
Always check switch compatibility and pin alignment before installation to avoid damaging the hot-swap sockets.
